Text your consignors and vendors

Record a consignor's START, then text one person, picked people or a whole group from the Rosebot window or Contracts β†’ MESSAGES. You can read their replies, see how many texts are new and set text reminders on the Schedule. For store owners and staff.

In RoseRose Pro + an SMS plan

Record START on a contractRose

Rose only texts people who said yes. Tick START only after the consignor or vendor has agreed, in person, by phone or on a signed form.

  1. Go to Contracts. Click SEARCH and pick the contract, then click ALTER. For a new contract, click CREATE.
  2. Scroll to the TEXT MESSAGES section.
  3. Check MOBILE TO TEXT. It starts as the contract's CELL.PH. Type a US mobile number, for example (502) 555-0142.
  4. Tick START (they said yes to texts).
  5. Choose what they get: SCHEDULE REMINDERS and SALES TEXTS (both are on by default).
  6. Click SAVE CHANGES.

Stop texting someoneRose

  1. Open the contract in Contracts (SEARCH, then ALTER).
  2. In TEXT MESSAGES, untick START (they said yes to texts). To stop only one kind of text, untick SCHEDULE REMINDERS or SALES TEXTS instead.

Text one personRose

  1. In the texting pane, leave TO set to One person.
  2. In PERSON, type a name or contract number and pick them. Only people who can be texted are listed, plus anyone you already have a conversation with.
  3. Type your text in the box (up to 600 characters). Under the box, Rose shows the character count and about how many text segments it will use.
  4. Click the paper-plane button. Rose shows TEXT SENT.

Text picked people or a whole groupRose

Group texts need the group texts right (administrators by default).

  1. In TO, pick Picked people, All consignors, All vendors or Everyone.
  2. For Picked people, click PICK…. In PICK WHO GETS THE TEXT, search, tick the people you want (CONTRACT, NAME, TYPE) and click USE SELECTED.
  3. Rose shows how many people the text goes to. Only active contracts that said START are counted.
  4. Type the text and click the paper-plane button.
  5. Confirm SEND GROUP TEXT. Rose shows how many texts were sent. If anyone was skipped, a NOT TEXTED list gives the reason (no START, replied STOP, no mobile number).

What Rose texts automaticallyRose

Once texting is on, Rose also texts on its own. Only people with START get these, and only the texts they said yes to.

Tip: Sales texts start with the first sale after the person said yes. Sales from before that are never texted.

Questions

Why can't I find a consignor in the PERSON list?

Only people who can be texted are listed: START ticked, a US mobile number and no STOP reply. Group choices also skip inactive contracts. Open their contract and check the TEXT MESSAGES section.

The text box and send button are greyed out.

Texting isn't ready for your store. The line at the top of the pane says why: for example COMING SOON, NEEDS ROSE PRO or NO SMS PLAN YET. See "Turn on text messaging (SMS) for your store".

Can I delete or unsend a text?

No. Once a text is sent it can't be taken back, and texts can't be deleted from a conversation.

Rose says the store's text limit is reached.

Your plan's daily or monthly limit has been used. Buy a refill or move to a bigger plan in Subscription Plans, or wait until tomorrow (daily limit) or next month.

I don't see TEXTS in the Rosebot window or in MESSAGES.

Texting must be on in Administration β†’ SETTINGS, and you need the Users right to text. Also check TEXT CONSIGNORS AND VENDORS FROM: if it says MESSAGES, TEXTS only shows in MESSAGES, and if it says ROSEBOT CHAT, only in the Rosebot window.

Do consignors see these texts in myPortal?

Yes. Texts with the store also show in their myPortal MESSAGES, marked TEXT MESSAGE, when portal messaging is on for them.

When does the daily sales summary go out?

At 6 pm store time, on days the person had sales. If nothing sold, no text is sent.

What happens when the text limit is reached?

Automatic texts stop until next month or until a refill is bought. Sales from that time aren't texted later, so nobody gets a pile of old texts. E-mails carry on as usual.
