ROSEWHAT'S NEWCount one rack, case or room at a time with a barcode scanner, your phone’s camera or by typing SKUs. Rose compares what you found with what it has on record, Rosebot explains every gap, and a manager fixes it with a reason – Square follows.
Split a location into areas – RACK 3, JEWELRY CASE, BACK ROOM. Items take the area they were counted in, so the next count knows where they live.
Use a USB or Bluetooth scanner, tap CAMERA on a phone or tablet, or type the SKU and press Enter. QTY counts several at once.
BLIND COUNT hides what Rose expects, so people count what is really there instead of ticking off the screen.
Sold during the count, scanned in another area, a look-alike counted instead, on a take-out, expired, sold but still on the rack, an unknown label – with a suggested reason for each.
MISSING, DAMAGED, DONATED, RETURNED, FOUND or BELONGS HERE. Every decision is logged with who and when, and the log shows which reasons keep coming up.
Vendors with Portal Pro use COUNT MY ITEMS in myPortal and send their count to you. It waits in Inventory Count and pops up as a VENDOR COUNT.
No. Areas live only in Rose. Changing an item’s area never changes anything in Square.
Anyone with Inventory access can count and review. Applying the adjustments is for managers (Administration access, or the ADMINISTRATOR user level). Staff counts are saved until a manager applies them.
It comes off the floor and out of Square, and it shows on the consignor’s contract with the others that were returned, donated or removed, with the reason in the notes. Items with a quantity are reduced instead.
Rose remembers what was on record when the count started. An item that sold during the count shows as SOLD DURING COUNT – no action needed.
Yes. Allow the camera when your phone asks. If it can’t, type the SKU or use a Bluetooth scanner.
A little every week beats one big count a year: your best-selling areas weekly, the rest monthly, and every area at least once a quarter. Inventory Count lists the areas due, oldest first.
